On 6th June 2025, the Board of Commissioners of the Public Enterprise Monitoring Commission (PEMC), accompanied by the CEO and members of the Management team, conducted a courtesy visit to L’Union Estate Company Limited on La Digue.
The purpose of the visit was to engage directly with the management team of L’Union Estate and gain a firsthand understanding of the company’s ongoing operations and key business activities. During the visit, the Board and PEMC team were given a tour of the estate’s various facilities and areas of operation, which included agricultural activities, tourism-related assets, artisanal production, and heritage conservation initiatives.
Following the site tour, a constructive discussion was held with the management of L’Union Estate, focusing on the strategic direction and long-term vision of the company. Topics discussed included potential areas for expansion, the alignment of the estate’s activities with national priorities, and opportunities to improve operational sustainability and revenue generation. The visit forms part of PEMC’s ongoing engagement with public enterprises to foster greater alignment, oversight, and support for strategic development, while also reinforcing transparent and cooperative working relationships.
