As a member of the Universal Postal Union, which is a specialized agency of the United Nations, the core function of Seychelles Postal Services (SPS) is to ensure the acceptance, handling, conveyance and delivery of Letter Post/Parcel Post items which comprise of priority and non-priority items.

• of bureau de change and deal in sale, purchase, transfer and other types of transactions in all currencies
• of engaging in money remittance both inward and outward; acceptance of money for the purpose of transmitting to persons within Seychelles and to other countries worldwide in such currency and in such manner as lawfully authorised to do
